Quilt Preparation
Your quilt is important to me.
In order to guarantee the highest quality and satisfaction in the finished product, please follow these guidelines.
Quilt Top:
- Trim any loose threads to prevent them from showing through the quilt top.
- Make sure all seams are pressed flat in the desired direction.
- Mark the “top” of your quilt with a pin or note.
Quilt Backing:
- The quilt back needs to be 8 inches longer and wider than the quilt top. If your quilt is 40 X 40, then your backing fabric must be 48 X 48.
- If the backing needs to be pieced, use a ½ inch seam allowance and press it open.
- If the quilt back is directional, please mark “top” of quilt back with a pin or note
- Bed sheets cannot be accepted as backing for any quilt.
Batting:
- If you provide your own batting, please make sure it is 8 inches longer and wider than the quilt top.
Borders:
- Please measure correctly and attach borders with care. “Wonky” borders are likely to cause pleats during quilting. If you have any questions, please watch the “How to” video on Favorites link.
